The 4x4 style resource to help students design ideas with other members of the class. Group students on a table of 4 and then time how long they have to design a product. After each student has designed a product it is passed round to the next student. This works best by sitting the high end designers next to more weaker designers as this should help to inspire them.

A design resource that works by helping pupils to be inspired by their peers. It's a good a idea to time them on each design task. By sitting them on table of four they can then pass it round four times to gather other ideas. Works really well by sitting the stronger designers next to the weaker members of the class.

This is a 136 page PowerPoint that can be used to guide the NEA tasks for the new AQA specification 8552 Design & Technology. It can be adapted easily. This is fantastic resource that shows lots of different ways to approach the work or can be adapted to your own style.

This is the class 4x4 design aid for this years 2018 Resistant Materials exam Section A: Organising remote controls in the home. It works when using with a whole class or group pf students. How to use: Pupils should be on tables of 4 where possible (mixed ability). Each pupils draws a design in a 3/5 minute time period. They then swap with another pupil on the table until their original folder is returned to them. They then have 10-15 minutes to develop an idea. This again can be swapped with someone else. Very good resource for sketching ideas to timings and for pupils to get inspiration from others.
