Technology in everyday life - The uses of social media (GCSE - AQA and Edexcel)

The 20 differentiated worksheets cover a range of skills (Reading, Writing and Speaking) and have been carefully designed to introduce and repeat key vocabulary and verbs relating to this GCSE topic. Some of the worksheets are also on ppt. to make it easier to introduce vocabulary and go over exercises in the lesson. 1) Practise ‘grâce à’, ‘toutes sortes de’, ‘pour and afin de’ + infinitive. 2) Learn and practise the verbs ‘pouvoir’ and ‘vouloir’ + infinitive. 3) Practise vocabulary and key verbs through gap fill, translation and reading tasks. 4) Practise/revise time expressions. 5) Improve written accuracy by translating with the help of scaffolding. 6) Gain confidence in speaking by working in pairs on well structured tasks. Two worksheets will give your students practice in writing and speaking about this topic using the past tense. There is also a sheet to practise saying how you use mobile technology using the Future and Near Future Tense in the first person singular. There is a role play practice sheet which your students can work on in pairs to improve their performance in both role play and general conversation. I have included an example of a typical GCSE Foundation and a Higher level role play on this topic. My second resource on this topic covers the advantages and disadvantages of social media and I have written a GCSE AQA Reading Practice Paper which is entirely based on the theme of new technology. La Télé; Studio 2 Rouge, Module 1, Unit 1, p. 9

(0)
Goes with Studio 2 Rouge, Module 1, Unit 1, La Télé A series of differentiated worksheets, a crossword puzzle and a wordsearch to give your students plenty of practice with key vocabulary, developing reading skills and sentence building through gap fill, word order and translation tasks. The worksheets are excellent to set as in-class activities, to use as assessment tasks or to set as homeworks to reinforce what has been taught and practised in the lesson. 2 ppts to introduce vocabulary to your class and to practise skills similar to those on the worksheets. I made the 'shared' ppt. and uploaded it to the student shared area for my students to do in an IT room. These worksheets have been meticulously designed and are at least as nicely presented as any resource you might buy from a respectable publisher. Please don't be put off by the preview image which at times looks distorted with text not fitting into boxes or lines missing from tables (due, I think, to the inclusion of tables/grids/text boxes); the actual resource looks professional in appearance when downloaded.
