Sort the parts of a pumpkin - laminate the sheets and let the children disect a pumpkin. Can they sort the different parts? Measure pumpkins - provide unifix or multilink cubes for children to measure pumpkins and write down how many cubes they are tall / wide. Colour your pumpkin sheet. Trace and write sheet.

Powerpoint with colour coded number blocks to show the progression of adding ‘one more’ beginning at 1. Also added stem sentences for each number sentence and a number sentence. Animated transitions so each slide shows blocks appearing one at a time. Used with Mastering number and also number blocks planning.

Posters grouped into alternative sounds or ‘families’ with pictures for display or use in phonics / classroom.

Handwriting sheets with three lines (I call them sky, land, sea) which can be left as they are or highlighted. I have written the words on both sides so it is easier for left handed children to read the sounds as they write. Large lines for introduction of letter formation to help children with less fine motor control. I would reduce these down for more confident writers. Can be laminated for use with whiteboard pens or printed as writing sheets. I use these alongside phonics teaching for letter formation practice.

Phase 3 trigraphs air, ure and ear real or alien cards with sound buttons for playing buried treasure. I laminated these cards and either use them in continuous provision independent activities or I have used them outdoors in a buried treasure game where the children pick a card out of a basket and run to the bin or the treasure chest to put the cards in - they can do it as a race or maybe to a timer. I added check boxes so whiteboard pens could be used for children to read and check independently (if laminated). They could also be used as real / alien flash cards.
