CV/ Resume ( Head teacher/ Senior leaders)

CV/ Resume ( Head teacher/ Senior leaders)

This is the CV I submitted to successfully gain my first headship. I bought the blank template off a resume website. It looks professional, concise and without waffle. The feedback I received was that it was the best CV out of all applicants. Schools in UK use application forms so this will be good for international applications or you could use this format inside your application where you have to write about work history, strengths etc. I used this CV to apply for headships however it can be adapted to any leadership role and the format can be adapted for teaching role too.

Teacher organiser/planner/diary

Teacher organiser/planner/diary

These are the resources that I have made to create an A4 binder diary. This is separate from a regular planning folder. They include: divider pages to laminate A week to view diary Logins sheet Children’s notebook pages. These are pages with a bullet journalling style that allow me to keep brief notes on the children in my class. This means that when it comes to parent evenings or report writing I can recal highlights. It also helps to notice behaviour patterns and to track those niggling feelings that aren’t enough to warrant a safeguarding form. It also helps to log individual misconceptions so that differentiation or homework is more personalised. The words and colours are all editable. You could even change the background image on the dividers as they are just copied and pasted and set behind text.

Attendance letter: Improve attendance and PA (Pupil Premium, FSM, SEN, Boys)

This letter is to be used every half term to give parents a snap shot of where their children currently are. This gives parents and children an emotional buy in as it compares them to their friendship group in a graphical format. The idea to present the attendance data in a graphic format helps combat the barrier of poor parental literacy levels. The letter can easily be changed into a mail merge to make the process more efficient. This letter can also be used to ‘nudge’ the top end. Resource includes: An adaptable letter A dynamic chart creater to help present your attendance data more effectively Attendance pamphlet for parents and script to be used in attendance meeting Law and legal duty on attendance This strategy in combination with attendance postcards has improved attendance in my setting by 3% since last year and PA by 13%.

My Vegan Child - A Resource for Educators

My Vegan Child - A Resource for Educators

My Vegan Child is a free online resource for parents, teachers and caregivers of vegan children. The booklet was created in collaboration with a group of vegan parents and educators. We wanted to communicate in a way that would inform our children’s teachers on veganism and to navigate potential sensitive areas such as food, nutrition and animal welfare. With more and more families becoming vegan, it is important that educators and carers gain an insight into the perspective of the vegan children they teach. Veganism is much more than just a diet. The information provided both in the booklet, and on this website, will help create a more inclusive learning environment for vegan children, as well as ideas and links for including humane education in teaching programs for all. Printing Info: Open pdf file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (download Adobe for free here). Choose print, then select ‘booklet’ as an option.

Car Classroom Behaviour System

Car Classroom Behaviour System

This is a visual behaviour scheme that allows for Teachers to have a in class behaviour system that links with both visual and verbal communication. Every child is on the green car because they are ‘on track’, if they make a wrong choice, a verbal reminder to ‘check their engines’ can be given which is the yellow car. If they continue this behaviour or being disruptive in the class then they need a ‘pit stop’. The pit stop means that they reflect on their actions, but like in real life racing, they still have the ability to get ‘back on track’. Children respond well to this especially boys. The resource comes with two documents, one has the three coloured cars and the other document includes road signs to help explain each car. Enjoy! Mr H
