Shakespeare Week: great set of Shakespeare quotation display cards/teaching resources

Shakespeare Week: great set of Shakespeare quotation display cards/teaching resources

Shakespeare Week is on the way! This pack contains a great set of A4 display pages. Each has a different quotation to make your students think. Under each quotation, which should be big enough for classroom displays, I’ve put a concise summary of what the quotation is about, who said it, and the scene reference. Teaching: you could quickly insert the ‘animation’ function into my PowerPoint to turn this int a great classroom quiz, as the coloured explanatory text is essentially the ‘answer’ -so you get a display and a quiz in on e! The quotations cover the Histories, Tragedies, Comedies and Late Plays. I have chosen more for ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ to help our GCSE students! Teaching: you could quickly insert the ‘animation’ function into my PowerPoint to turn this int a great classroom quiz. Happy Shakespeare Week, gentles all. Please browse my shop (search under ‘Shakespeare’) for other resources, including a Shakespearean insults tournament lesson and lots of revision packs.

Curling Winter Olympics Vocabulary game for Interactive Whiteboard

Curling Winter Olympics Vocabulary game for Interactive Whiteboard

Tying in with the Winter Olympics 2018, this is a curling game which I have used for MFL lessons (ask differentiated vocabulary and / or conjugation questions to decide who goes first, and whether students can launch a stone / how many stones they are allowed to launch). Points are gathered either by ‘zone’ the stone is touching, e.g. 1 for outer (blue), 2 for outer white, 3 for red and 4 for inner white, or (like the real curling game) you score depending on how close you are to the middle. If the closest stone is red or yellow, that team gets 1 point. If the second closest is the SAME colour, that team gets 2 points. If it is a different colour, the closest team only gets 1 point, etc. Users simply flick the stone from behind one of the two lines (for left- and right-handed players) towards the house and the scores are totalled after all 8 have been thrown.

Drawing Out Of Chaos: Sample

Drawing Out Of Chaos: Sample

Hi! This is a sample of one of my current projects - I have been using modular exponentiation to create regular line drawings for anybody to colour in. (of varying difficulties) This pack contains 9 drawings selected from my vast catalogue that can be used everywhere from classrooms to coffee tables, perhaps as a therapeutic activity to start off the day for your students. Please leave a review so I know what you think of them, and whether I should add more - after all, there are more of these drawings than there are atoms in the universe. Hope you enjoy! Harry

LARGE Rating scales for feedback and assessment plus title & smiley faces

LARGE Rating scales for feedback and assessment plus title & smiley faces

25 files to make up the following: Two rating scales - 0-5 and 0-10. Vibrant, gradient-coloured from red to green. Each scale image is ready for A3 (29.7am x 42cm) printing so a full scale will be up to approx. 3 x A3 (or approx. 120cm.) Title letters are ready to print on A4 paper (21cm x 29.7cm) Options available are black and the vibrant, gradient of red to green. Smileys if you want to help communicate what each position on the scale represents for a particular activity. These scales are excellent to use when gauging understanding or confidence levels e.g. at the start of a lesson, children answer a set of questions and then post-it their name on the scale reflecting however many questions they got correct. The same questions can be asked after the learning has taken place and children can move their name post-its up the scale to reflect their progress. Simple but effective! (Useful for observations to sign-post progress or increased confidence levels.) I’ve stuck the scales back to back before laminating so I can easily switch between the scales. You can even print out mini versions and stick them into books or onto worksheets and have children assess / provide feedback on their own performance.
