These activities are ideal to practice fruit vocabulary and recipe instructions (imperative). This resource introduces 15 school subjects with many practice activities. It introduces questions and answers about likes and dislikes as well as opinions/ reasons. It goes on introduce and give grammar advice about adjectival agreements, as well as showing a table and checking comprehension with practice exercises. It also presents work on favourite subjects. There are pair work speaking activities, reading activities and writing activities. The reading activities include texts with verdadero/falso exercises as well as activities with open-ended questions. There is a school timetable that pupils could replicate and questions to answer about the timetable they see. Answers for all activities appear on the PowerPoint. By the end of the PowerPoint (74 slides) pupils will be able to write a paragraph about their school subjects (likes/dislikes, opinions and so on). There is a lengthy worksheet, which accompanies the activities on the PowerPoint and a separate word search document.

Here is a small collection of ideas to encourage students to write creatively at KS3 creating good habits in preparation for their GCSE written work. This could be used as prompt for departmental discussion or a stimulus for work on writing skills. Some of the ideas can be lifted directly from the information here but most will need to be developed to suit individual schools / departments.

Ropa de celebridades

This is aimed at students who have just started learning clothes with descriptions in Spanish. It is a reading and writing exercise in which students are directed to a website where they have to dress celebrities. The resource starts with reading comprehension. The last two exercises ask them to choose the celebrities outfit, and then write what they have put them in. Prior teaching of clothes items is necessary, as well as accessories and something there is specialised vocabulary such as sleeveless. Computer Access is essential to complete this work.
