French: Soccer / Football Activity Pack - World Cup, la coupe du monde

French: Soccer / Football Activity Pack - World Cup, la coupe du monde

Get through the World Cup weeks by making your students talk about 24 football-related pictures and various suggested activities. This Soccer/Football activity pack contains a PowerPoint presentation, cue cards, 32 different Bingo mats and a vocabulary list, as well as a multi-player board game to encourage speaking and learning through play. In an attempt to accommodate my colleagues in various parts of the world I am including files in different formats, i.e. letter/A4 and tabloid/A3 and using UK/US terminology. Should I have unintentionally missed any words, please do not mark me down in a review. Rather feel free to contact me and I shall work with you to remedy this asap. Formats and terminology used are always made clear in a filename, e.g. ‘le soccer’ refers to CA, ‘le foot’ refers to French as spoken in France. If no format is mentioned, then the file is in the A4 format. If no language clue is included then the file applies to the French taught in the country of the website :) Please kindly respect the time it took me to construct the enclosed sheets. Fairness deal: I will keep my price low. In return please be fair to me and do not pass this resource to colleagues unless you or your school have purchased the multiple licence for this resource too. Thank you. :) If you like these, please leave me a review and follow me to see what else is new in my shop at any time. ©MosaiK

French speaking players at the World Cup

French speaking players at the World Cup

Every major tournament, I print out and laminate pictures of the most well-known French speaking footballers. I put these up around school and the children love trying to work out the meanings of the words. I’ve also added some slides at the end that you could use in class to discuss vocabulary and for the children to write their own profile. Please let me know if there are any errors. I learnt today that you say “Je viens de France” rather than “Je viens de la France,” which is what I’ve always used in the past. Enjoy and Allez les bleus!!!

Cambridge IGCSE French: Listening activity workbook

Cambridge IGCSE French: Listening activity workbook

I have developed this resource from having designed my own worksheets from the Cambridge IGCSE textbook (2015 edition) into a workbook. The listening activites follow the whole book from units 1-15 and most of them are differentiated between lower level and higher level activities, however as the book progresses, the less the lower level activites become available as I strongly encourage my students to undertake the same level of work upon entering the second year of the IGCSE programme, as the examinations are going to be at the same level. Before you purchase this resource, please note that these resources are designed from and follow the Cambridge IGCSE 2015 edition and the NOT the newest 2017 edition. Happy teaching and learning!

World Cup 2018 French authentic reading resource / quiz

World Cup 2018 French authentic reading resource / quiz

I have compiled ‘Fact files’ in French on 6 Francophone players (1 from each Francophone country in the World Cup.) I have also written a huge quiz based on these fact files, plus a list of the teams and the timetable of the knock out rounds. The documents should be copied and given out to students in groups of 3/4 and they can use the information to answer the questions. Most questions are in English, with 8 in French at the end. 80 marks in total! Should keep students quiet for an hour Students could then create their own fact file on players of their choice similar to these. All information is authentic - from yahoo.fr / French Wikipedia / L’Equipe online. All documents are in Word so can be edited. Answers included. Suitable for KS3 / KS4 French Please provide feedback. I’m charging a small fee as several hours of work went into these resources.

Some: Will learn and research vocabulary and facts and use them to create a poem. Slide 3 has a YouTube link to follow to use with the attached worksheet: https://youtu.be/uC14iKFNwIc . This uses the official FIFA promotional video and the students tick the countries they see. The worksheet is differentiated with an Extra! challenge. The answers are on the next PowerPoint slide. Slide 5 introduces key vocabulary and can be used with the matching cards. The students should work in pairs/ groups to match the vocabulary and the picture using their previous knowledge, cognates and a process of elimination. Vocabulary: Le joueur de foot Le gardien de but L’arbitre Le stade Le ballon de foot La coupe Un drapeau Une équipe Un carton jaune Le terrain de foot Un maillot de foot Des chaussures de foot The activity is differentiated as follows: All: Match Up! Slides 6 to 17 show each word and the matching picture and colourful animations. Slide 18 has all the pictures for a quick recap. Then there is graded questioning: Slides 19 to 30 have A, B, C multiple choice questions. Slides 31 to 44 are “What’s missing?” slides. Then slide 45 has a YouTube link to the France 2018 Promo video and students should note down new nouns and adjectives expressing the emotions they see and feel (if they don’t know the French they can grab a dictionary later!) The creative challenges are presented on slides 45 and 46, this is to either create an acrostic, a calligramme or a poem (there is a poem template provided). This information is also on the accompanying worksheets. Slide 47 provides the opportunity for reflection. I really hope you and your students enjoy these resources!

French – Years 8 or 9 Magazine Project - ideal for the end of term.

French – Years 8 or 9 Magazine Project - ideal for the end of term.

This is a fun, creative project for students of all ability ranges. It is a great project for pupils in years 8 or 9 and takes 2 – 3 weeks to complete. Pupils work in pairs or small groups to make their own French magazine. The PowerPoint goes through the different types of magazines pupils could create (fashion, sport, tech, healthy lifestyle, music, travel) and explains in a step-by-step format the different features each magazine should include. Example and ideas of features/ articles to include are also given. The PowerPoint is a complete introduction to pupils for the creative work they will be doing, in the form of a magazine, and there is also a worksheet to print for each group to keep to guide them through everything they should include. It is ideal to do at the end of term as it allows pupils to work independently from the teacher; practise the French they have learnt; and they really enjoy this creative task.

11) Arthur's family's emotional day ( Dad gets a replacement passport) direct and indirect objects

11) Arthur's family's emotional day ( Dad gets a replacement passport) direct and indirect objects

The Arthur series of comics in French, help our students who are working with Tapis Volant 2 but can be used by anyone. This is no. 11 in the series. It demonstrates use of direct and indirect objects. Poor dad has lost his passport and this story shows what it is like to get a replacement when overseas. On the cover page there are comprehension questions. Sadly, I cannot upload the sound file but a teacher can read out the text. We use the this for both listening and reading comprehension. You can white out the words if you want to use it for listening and students then have the comic pictures as support.
