Expanding brackets differentiated dominos

Expanding brackets differentiated dominos

Expanding brackets differentiated dominoes This activity is a fun and novel way for students to practise expanding brackets. They can start on any domino they like, answer the question, find the answer on a different domino then repeat the process. If they have answered all questions correctly they should end up back at the domino they started with. Why dominos is a great activity: • Students can check their own answers • They will complete 20 questions in a way that is completely different from standard worksheets • Students find it fun to search for and find the answers • They can be laminated to be used again This pages contained in this product are: Contents Instructions Expanding a single bracket with positive numbers on the outside only e.g. 2(3b -2) Expanding a single bracket with positive numbers only ANSWERS Expanding a single bracket with positive and negative numbers e.g. -3(3b -2) Expanding a single bracket with positive and negative numbers ANSWERS Expanding a single bracket with letters on the outside e.g. z(2x +5) and 3v(3g-2) Expanding a single bracket with letters on the outside ANSWERS Expanding a single bracket with letters and powers e.g. 2x2(3x +2) Expanding a single bracket with letters and powers ANSWERS Working out sheet 1 Working out sheet 2 Suggestions for use: • Give to pairs for a collaborative activity • Give one each to a group of students and they need to find their answer and make a line • Give to individual students to complete on their desk • Once students have completed a set give them the answers as evidence of their accomplishment/get them to take a picture of the finished loop and stick it in

Class Cluedo Maths

Class Cluedo Maths

This converts the classic game Cluedo into three maths lessons. The aim for the children is to find out the location, weapon and the murderer by solving clues the murderer has left. I’ve always taught it as the children are in teams of 3 but it could be bigger or smaller teams. The font on the powerpoint is Baskerville Old Face which isn’t supported on the TES preview. The powerpoint is designed for a Year 6 class. However, it can be adapted to any age range, including secondary school, as everything within it is editable. The clues are meant to be multiple step maths questions and have been left blank for your use. It includes: The Cluedo Powerpoint The clues template on word The clues extention template on word A set of Cluedo cards on publisher A nice touch may be to get some deerstalker hats so the children can answer as the detective.

Predicted Paper for 2/3 Edexcel Higher GCSE

Predicted Paper for 2/3 Edexcel Higher GCSE

Thought I’d give it a go writing my own Predicted Paper, with some help from colleagues. I’ve gone for much more difficult questions as we’re thinking the other two papers may be much more difficult than the first paper was yesterday. It’s on Powerpoint and Notebook so that it can be done easily on the board as a class rather than a quick printing turn around/costing on photocopying. I hope you find it useful :)

June 2018 OCR predicted paper 2 (Foundation)

June 2018 OCR predicted paper 2 (Foundation)

I have put together a predicted foundation paper 2 for the OCR spec (non calc), it is focused on topics which have not been tested on paper 1 and i have tried to use similar style of questions to recent OCR specimen and the last 2 exam papers. There is a mark scheme which i have quickly put together, this is not detailed (a quick guide!) Please note the predicted paper is just a best guess and it is not 100% that the content on it will turn up. The bulk of the content has been adapted and nothing is copied exactly from any specific paper or resource. This may be used as a useful revision activity! Hope it is of good use, leave a comment. Sorry for any silly errors in advance! I have spotted one myself: question 18 to find P 3 x 3 x 3 x 2 x 7 =378 ops!
