If you're a Speech (or American/World History!) teacher that needs a sub plan in a snap, this is perfect for you! Print off the packet for each student, give your sub the YouTube playlist, and you are covered! In this sub plan, I include 8 evaluation sheets for 8 historical speeches. I separated each sheet so that you have to option to reorder or remove any speeches you don't think would be a good fit for your particular class. I provide the material, but you are ultimately in charge! ***You'll need access to YouTube and a way for your students to watch the speeches to make best use of this product.*** Many of the speeches I included are just short segments of a famous speech, to help keep the students attention. If you would rather swap out my clip with the full speech, you could do that on YouTube. If you use all the speeches included in this sub plan, it should easily cover one period. For my own class, it covered two because my students wanted to watch every speech twice to answer the accompanying questions. This is an ‘outstanding’ lesson that was devised for a performance management observation. It is aimed at Key Stage 4 and 5 students examining Winston Churchill’s personal contribution to Britain’s survival in the Second World War. It was designed for use with students who possess some background knowledge of this topic although it could be used equally successfully as an introductory lesson with those new to this subject area. It consists of three main activities and an extension task for more able, gifted and talented students. The lesson is structured around an independent source investigation that involves students studying authentic primary sources in order to develop their own evaluation of Churchill’s contribution as wartime leader. A PowerPoint presentation, primary source pack and worksheet are included, along with a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to deliver the lesson effectively. All of the lesson resources can be fully customised to meet your pupils’ learning needs.

A revision table to be used in preparation for Qs 1a and 2a of the A Level Russia exam. This table lists some of the key topics that students may be given in the question; they must then list the factors involved in causing this event. Included is a set of possible factors that they may put for each section, although this is by no means comprehensive. They can then use this table for question practice, by choosing two of their factors and writing an answer comparing them.
