The resource is interesting to work on the topic 'Descrimination and Prejudes' (IB, A-Level). The resource includes some basic information about slavery (dates, carts, Le Code noir de 1685 and so on). The students can read the main dates related to the History of Slavery, Le Code noir de 1685 (one of the main documents related to the topic), the process to abolish slavery. Then they can express their opinion using the images p.9-11 (each image has a legend that can help the learners). Finally, the students need to unswer the questions based on the texts read before. The resource heip the students to learn more about slavery, to develop their speaking skills and writing ones.

Canada - La Révolution Trudeau (diversité)

Canada - La Révolution Trudeau (diversité)

This is a listening activity based on an authentic news video report about Justin Trudeau's vision for diversity in Canada. I have done this with my Y13 French New A Level group. Students listen to the video and answer the questions in English. There is an answer sheet too. The video can be found at the links below: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x44q6dx_canada-la-revolution-trudeau_news http://blog.francetvinfo.fr/bureau-washington/2016/04/17/canada-la-revolution-trudeau.html

Article contre l'accueil des migrants en France

Article contre l'accueil des migrants en France

An article in French and language activities for my IB French B class on the theme of immigration (Global issues) in preparation for a class debate on welcoming migrants to France. Students had lots of arguments "for" but struggle to find arguments "against". The article gave a different perspective.

French election Final round Macron VS Le Pen / Les elections françaises 2eme tour.

French election Final round Macron VS Le Pen / Les elections françaises 2eme tour.

The French have voted for their 2 favorite candidates for the presidential elections. It is now quite hard to tell the future and if you are teaching French you may find it hard to explain the programs of each of the candidates. This resource will help you teach about the elections by putting the results into the French context and by explaining the birth of each political party. This resource is aimed at intermediate-advanced level students. This resource contains a PPT with 24 slides with different activities. It also contains a booklet for students so that they can keep a track of their learning. All the activities are corrected to save you time. Here's what you will get: 1. a matching up activity with the 5 main political parties that were competing (texts with main ideas and political trends) 2. a true/false activity about the political campaign 3. a reading with questions about Marine Le Pen and her program 4. Two video clips: Students need to answer questions about her political trends and main concerns for the voters of the Front National 5. A mini-biography to reorder about Marine Le Pen 6. A reading about the history of the FN and how it is presented now 7. A text about Emmanuel Macron and his program with questions 8. A brainstorming about what students may know about him 9. A video clip with questions 10. a mini-biography to reorder about Emmanuel Macron 11. A text giving some insight about his Party En Marche 12. The results as a conclusion Enjoy. I am sure it will help you teach about the elections and their importance not only in France but also on the international scene. I suggest you also use this resource that gives you a clear idea of the political system in France. Check here French election Process

Higher French Listening Revision Bundle

Higher French Listening Revision Bundle

Eight videos of a native French speaker talking about topics from the SQA's New Higher. This resource would also be useful for high ability GSCE pupils and AS level students needing to work on their listening skills and build their confidence in this area. For each unit there is a video, audio (in case your internet isn't fast enough), a workbook and answer booklet. The activities include three different types of gap fill, dictation, comprehension questions, true/false questions and translation as well as some extension activities. The resource aims to not just build confidence in listening but also practise dictionary skills, increase grammar awareness and work on translation. *Note - as the employability video was too large to upload to TES, a link is included in a PDF file.
