Introduction to Ratio - a full lesson

Introduction to Ratio - a full lesson

Mastery maths. The slides can be used on whiteboards to prompt the route the lesson takes. The video explains how I would teach the lesson including relevant questions to ask etc. The focus is on understanding of the key concepts of equivalent ratios and what a ratio is. Loads of scope for extending and making this your own. Hope you find it useful.

Huge Gingerbread Man Resources and Activities

Huge Gingerbread Man Resources and Activities

30 pages of fun … To support the topic of the Gingerbread Man! My class adore this story, so I created Gingerbread Man themed resources for them to use to support my teaching and their learning. In this pack you will find… Gingerbread Man speech bubbles to encourage creative writing (2 versions included). Lined paper with a Gingerbread Man border for children to write on (my class wrote their own versions of the story!). Numbers on Gingerbread Men (I use these as flash cards, ask the children to place them into number order, daily interventions, etc). Cut and stick the gingerbread men into number order activity sheet (two versions: numbers 1-10 and numbers 11-20). Design your own Gingerbread Man sheet. Lovely Gingerbread Man themed bunting to decorate your classroom (mine is in my role play area and my writing area!). Pre writing trace the Gingerbread Man’s tracks sheet to develop fine motor skills, pencil grip and control. Number lines (two versions: numbers 1-10 and numbers 1-20). 56 Gingerbread men addition cards (completely differentiated to target a range of mathematical abilities from addition with numbers under 5 to addition with numbers over 20). I hope your class enjoy these resources as much as mine did! The Teacher Traveller

Ordinal Numbers Activities 0-10 Printable Kindergarten Math Centres

Ordinal Numbers Activities 0-10 Printable Kindergarten Math Centres

This is a printable Math Centre Activity involving counting, thinking and ordering numbers 1-10. These are Math centre activities, suitable for Kindergarten and Year 1, there are 124 different cards, dealing with numbers 0-10. You can print and use whole sheets as worksheets, but I usually cut and laminate cards with an image at the top, and a choice of three answers below. , There are a couple of reference strips, black ink and colour There are 124 activity cards requiring students to colour, or mark their answers There are 4 sets of cards (black ink and colour) so students can sort, order and play games. The answers could be marked with a peg, button, counter etc but students can simply draw a circle around their answer. I have also used as a whole sheet assessment activity, and ask children to circle or mark the correct answer. Many children can count to ten, but they need to be taught about order and its vocabulary. Adds and extends this other product.

Fraction Wall

Fraction Wall

This is a fraction wall I’ve used to re-colour due to the dark colours you get on these type resources. I hope you find it also more useful than the once out there on the Net.

Tables chart

Tables chart

Three levels, three groups of tables. Fun way to keep track of your student’s table knowledge. I date and place a sticker in each star when a student has passed their times table challenge. The students have to pass the challenge twice for each group of tables (yearly objectives) before moving on. Eventually moving on to the next level. A helpful resource for when you need to assess key objectives as it’s a record of their learning. Attached an editable version too.
