Coloring by Sine Law, OneUp Mushroom (4, 16, and 32 Sheet Collaborative Mosaics)

Coloring by Sine Law, OneUp Mushroom (4, 16, and 32 Sheet Collaborative Mosaics)

A highly engaging task combining individual accountability with collaborative motivation! Colouring meets Trigonometry in this class-wide math mosaic that will look spectacular hanging up in your classroom :) Each worksheet represents a small section of the big picture! Every worksheet contains a different set of problems, so you can confidently encouraged students to help each other without worrying about copying! 3 mosaic sizes are included in this product to accommodate a variety of class sizes and uses. This could be an assessment piece, test prep, homework, or assignment! Common Core Standards: High School Geometry - SRT.D.10, SRT.D.11 Each worksheet contains diagram problems requiring the Sine Law to solve for the missing side or angle. The 4-Sheet mosaic contains 12 questions per worksheet, and follows a colour-by-number style. The 16-Sheet mosaic contains 16 questions per worksheet, while the 32-Sheet mosaic contains 8 questions per worksheet. It's simple! 1. Calculate the answers. 2. Colour the squares. 3. Cut out your section. 4. Combine with the class! INCLUDED: --> .pdf and editable .docx of everything! --> All three full class sets of worksheets (each worksheet is different!) --> Complete answer keys for all worksheets for easy assessment! Also, a colour-range answer key is provided for at-a-glance assessment. i.e. golden yellow -> 14 < answer < 22) --> Teaching Tips page to help you implement this task smoothly --> Every worksheet contains the answers scrambled at the bottom enabling students to self-assess their understanding. --> Worksheets contain Sine Law formula for quick reference The student buy-in factor is HUGE with these worksheets; they all want to see the finished picture come together! High school students love colouring too! Leave the picture a secret or show it for motivation… it’s your call. Encourage students to check their answers by finding them in the randomized list on their worksheet before they colour each square. This will increase the accuracy of the final picture! All my “Colouring by…” worksheets use standard pencil-crayon colours found in the Crayola 24 pack. For best results, use the exact colour name match, and stick with the same colouring medium (and encourage quality colouring!). Perhaps a class set of pencil crayons would be a fun math department investment! Feedback, suggestions, and frontline stories are always welcomed! Thanks for checking this out! ~CalfordMath

Lengths of similar shapes

Lengths of similar shapes

Students learn how to identify and calculate missing lengths in similar shapes using the length scale factor. As learning progresses students begin to calculate lengths in compound shapes using their similar components. Differentiated Learning Objectives All students should be able to calculate the length scale factor for two similar shapes. Most students should be able to calculate missing dimensions in similar shapes using the length scale factor. Some students should be able to calculate missing lengths in compound shapes by considering their similar components

Teach in 20 Similar shapes

Teach in 20 Similar shapes

This started as a teaching prompt to prepare my year 10 set 2 for a end of year mock and it was based on topics we hadn't studied yet. I found I could teach them the content and go through an example and then get them try a question in about 20 minutes - that is 3 new topics in a 60 minute lesson. I printed the PowerPoints as handouts and got the students to work on them. You can of course use them as you see fit. Feedback would be much appreciated! Enjoy :)
