Unit 3.1 from Mira express 1 with a variety of activities

This bundle includes a 100 slide ppt presentation with activities based mainly on the textbook but also a lot of additional stuff created by me, as well as 3 worksheets created by me or inspired on different sources (such as news articles). Please read the notes at the bottom of each slide as i often include instructions on how to conduct an activity or simply the source (there’s a listening from the old AS textbook as well - no problem if you cannot do it as a listening because you dont have access to it, I always include transcripts for these so it can be done as a reading task or you could record yourself).

Ppt presentation I created to collate some fun tried and tested activities to teach the perfect tense to KS4 students. It can be easily adapted to any ability group due to the nature of the activities. It provides an explanation of what it is (uses), time indicators, formation (endings) and main irregular forms. It then includes 4 different activities: a basic sentence translation activity, a never have I ever task to get your students standing up and down depending on whether they’ve done a number of things (18 in total), a differentiated die activity to do in pairs to conjugate verbs in the perfect tense or take it a bit further and ask each other questions based on the given verbs, and finally a list of 26 things students might have or might have not done before they finish school, to practise “ya” and “aun no”. A very simple lesson containing 5 mini-activities to do in pairs based around 2 TV guides to exploit this type of authentic text. It’s highly based on the textbook but extending it. It also includes a British TV guide example to work on speaking. As this is done towards the end of the module, I’ve included 2 noughts and crosses sheets for students to do in pairs and thus review vocabulary from module 2.3 Prefiero las comedias. PPT contains a total of 8 slides (1 of them being the answer sheet to the noughts and crosses game).

A worksheet with a compilation of high frequency phrases in Spanish containing very common mistakes made by English speakers. These errors include: grammar, spelling, word order, gender and number agreements and omitted words. I devised this sheet to raise awareness among my students, with the objective that they won’t make these mistakes in their GCSE exam!! Answers included, at the end of the document. It should keep them busy for some time!

This bundle includes units 1 to 5 from Module 4 “En casa" in Mira 1. There are a range of activities to do, a lot more than what the textbook offers: extra readings, vocab tests, extra speaking, paragraph ideas, lots of starters and plenaries, printable vocabulary lists, etc. Look at the bottom of each slide to see any notes that might be relevant to understand what to do in a certain activity, extension ideas, etc. This is a breakdown of what you are getting: 1 ppt containing units 4.1 to 4.3 (= ‘Vivimos en Europa’ + ‘Como es tu casa?’ + ‘Las habitaciones’) together = 126 slides. 1 ppt containing unit 4.4 (‘En mi dormitorio’) = 75 slides. 1 ppt containing unit 4.5 (‘Que haces?’) = 58 slides.

This resource includes a 127 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my yr10 group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. What’s included: resources for Unit 1: Everyday life at home and school, which at the same time includes activities for section: 1B School Life and Routine --> 1B.1 Asi es mi dia en el insti; 1B.2 Mi dia escolar; 1B.3 En la pista de atletismo del insti; 1B.4 LLa vida escolar. It comes with two extra lists of vocabulary for students to revise, and two versions of vocabulary tests to be done at the end of every-subsection, and overall a good range of activities that train the 4 skills, and grammar. I have also attached the list of vocabulary provided by the textbook for the Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school, corresponding to sections 1A to 1D, ALREADY FILLED IN WITH THE TRANSLATIONS for students to use as revision if you dont want to spend time from the lesson/homework to get them to write them down.
