Back to School Maths / Literacy Activities BUNDLE (Year 1 / P2)

Back to School Maths / Literacy Activities BUNDLE (Year 1 / P2)

Activities for the first week back at school after the summer with a new Year 1 class (P2 and other equivalents). These resources will suit some Key Stage 1 (KS1) Year 1 classes / groups in the first few days and weeks back, while others might benefit from them at another time. ADDITION TO 20 GAMES 2 Self-Check Board Games for pupils to get lots of consolidation. Ideal for keeping groups meaningfully busy if you are teaching others. For differentiation, the two boards are at different levels, with one containing more challenging calculations such as those involving missing numbers. SELF-CHECK ADD AND SUBTRACT TO 20 TRAILS AND BINGO 36 Trails for pupils to complete with a whiteboard pen once laminated. They can also be used as unlaminated worksheets if required. Pupils keep a running total as they work their way around the calculations in a spiral, until they reach the answer in the centre and are able to see if they have gone wrong. There is also a bingo game for adding and subtracting to 20. JUMBLED SENTENCES A full class set of 30 different reusable sentence building boards. Emergent writers love lifting the words off to unscramble them to find the hidden simple sentence. With an engaging picture clue and title on each board, this word sequencing resource suits a range of learning styles. Pupils rearrange their words into the correct order on the board before writing the sentence out themselves on the lines provided, using a dry-wipe pen. They could then copy the sentence into their jotter if required. Regular practice of making sentences in this way should help pupils begin to form sentences independently. Each mixed-up sentence contains a word beginning with a capital letter to help children identify the first word and to reinforce this important punctuation rule, and a full stop to pick up and place at the end of their sentence. While constructing these sentences, children also learn about word order, parts of speech and about the fact that a sentence must make sense on its own. These resources are available in some other linked bundles, which you can explore buy clicking on these links: Jumbled Sentences Bundle Add and Subtract Activities Bundle Year 1 / Year 2 / Year 3 Addition and Subtraction to 20 Games Bundle For time-saving, engaging resources to help you plan Primary Literacy, Maths and French lessons, visit FullShelf Resources

INTERVENTION MATHS PROGRAM - IMP Year 2 - ACARA aligned - Number, Place Value, Patterns and Algebra

INTERVENTION MATHS PROGRAM - IMP Year 2 - ACARA aligned - Number, Place Value, Patterns and Algebra

This package contains: - Intervention Program - 79 pages (Year 1 and Year 2) - Answer Book - 16 pages - Screeners for Years 2 to 4 (to identify skill deficits in Number, Place Value, Patterns and Algebra) - Addition Fact Families by strategy (one A4 page) - 100 Task Cards for one-step problem solving at Year 2 level If you're looking for an intervention program that will save you time, here it is. It's what I dreamed of when I had 26 students from Year 1 to Year 6 all in the one room. I had a teacher aide part time. This is the program I would have given her. It's perfect for those kids who haven't quite mastered the Year 1 maths curriculum and those who need extra in Year 2. You can also use it up to Year 4 to address skill deficits that go back to Year 1. There is a free sample in my shop available for you to examine the contents and see if it meets your needs. The complete program includes concept development pages, posters, interactive activities, worksheets, task cards and games. You can also use parts of this program as whole-class activities. Simply reduce the pages by 50% as they are designed for intervention in their original form. You could include the games and task cards in a maths centre in Year 2 and, with this scaffolding, your intervention group would manage. I have a whopper games bundle for schools as an economical way to resource an intervention program at this level.
