Race around the clock times tables

Race around the clock times tables

A worksheet that can be used to test times tables. The children write whatever times table they are doing (4x, 8x etc) in the star in the middle of the sheet and times the number on the outside of the track by that number. They then write the answers of the times table in the boxes in the inside of the track. Lower ability children can be asked to +2, +4 etc to the number on the outside of the track instead of completing times tables. Give children 2 or 3 minutes to complete the race. Photocopy back to back and ask higher ability children to complete both sides. I made this worksheet during a teaching practice with Year 3 - it works well.

100 Square

100 Square

Simple Excel spreadsheet that almost fills an A4 piece of paper when printed. 5 versions: - blank - odd squares shaded - even squares shaded - multiples of 3 shaded - multiples of 5 shaded Not revolutionary but it will save you at least ten minutes in creating, re-sizing, configuring print settings etc.

How many pennies are left?

How many pennies are left?

I have made this resource to help children who are not yet able to subtract above 20. The resource is a worksheet which has 6 purses full of pennies and some food items for the children to buy with their pennies. They then draw the number of pennies they have left on the right hand side. It has taken a while to make so I thought I would upload it as someone else may find it useful!

Ladybird and counters

Ladybird and counters

I created this for my reception children when we were learning about doubles. I laminated the pictures of the ladybirds and the children used the counters to learn simple doubles. Can also be used for other maths activities.
