iGCSE Edexcel 9-1 Biology Chemistry Physics Chpt 1&2 Revision Mat Broadsheet Bundle

iGCSE Edexcel 9-1 Biology Chemistry Physics Chpt 1&2 Revision Mat Broadsheet Bundle

This is a bundle of A3 summary sheets I made for my students using the Pearson iGCSE Student book: the questions in each box inspire students to summarise the work that they need to know for this section. This resource includes the first two chapters of each of the Biology (Section A: Life Processes and The Variety of Living Organisms) and Chemistry (Section A: Kinetic Theory, Diffusion, Atomic Structure) topics, and Chapters 1 and 2 of the Physics topic (Movement and postion and Forces and Shape). I am gradually adding the other Chapters as I go along. I would print each of these topics on an A3 sheet double sided, so that the same topic is on a double-sided sheet. It would also be good to pop each sheet onto a double-sided coloured A3 sheet, then you can make each topic (Bio/Chem/Physics) a different colour to easily refer to them in class.

Body blank to write on

Body blank to write on

Print as 2 to 1 page to get 2xA5 copies or print as is which will give you 2xA4 copies. You can change the heading to suit any purpose. With this heading I get students to draw onto the body all the ways they can think off for pathogens to enter the body. Inevitably some will draw penises (of varying sizes) onto their body. Rather than making a big deal of it, embrace it! Responses like, “Excellent I can see that your body is male. How do pathogens enter a penis?” This usually stumps those trying to shock their female teachers. It can also be a lead into a useful conversation about sexually transmitted infections STI’s.

o level biology: Cell structure

o level biology: Cell structure

This lesson and assesment allows o Level Biology students to explore the structure of the cell . Students will label the key components of the cell and identify the role of each key component in the cell. This lesson would lead well in to looking at how cell work. Great either to use as a lesson and assesment when teaching this topic, or as a revision sheet or as an assessment at the end of the topic. Answer sheet provided; good to project on the board when going through the sheet with your students.

New AQA GCSE The Heart and Blood Vessels (2 lessons)

New AQA GCSE The Heart and Blood Vessels (2 lessons)

A lesson used between years 8-11 on the heart and blood vessels. I do double lessons in Science but it can easily be put into two. For the heart lesson, I usually do a heart dissection instead of the video and questions and get students to create a write up of the practical including: what parts they identified and how they minimized any risks during the practical. Lot of activities included with differentiation and extension questions.

Quiz questions project

Quiz questions project

This resource is best used for students aged 11-18 as it is a generic template and strategy based on the value of questions and questioning. It is useful due to this. The aim is to prepare a quiz based presentation to share with others or use as a revision resource. The objectives to be fulfilled by the end of this project are; a development in the ability to devise, answer and evaluate key questions. Differentiation is by outcome or teacher selection so, for example, only the most able students are given the trickier tasks or given the role of leadership. Questions are a great learning tool, they have the potential to boost thinking, independent learning, retention, teamwork, collaboration and communication like no other strategy. Teachtoday July 2018
