Stephen Fry Wordsearch Puzzle Sheet Keywords KS4 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Drama Actor

Stephen Fry Wordsearch Puzzle Sheet Keywords KS4 Settler Starter Cover Lesson Drama Actor

Wordsearch Puzzle sheet on the theme of 'Stephen Fry'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

Atmosphere and Dramatic Tension - a drama scheme of work

Atmosphere and Dramatic Tension - a drama scheme of work

This is a scheme of work with enough lesson plans to last a whole term. It is suitable for Key Stage 3 and it focuses on atmosphere in drama - why it is important, what impact it can have on an audience, how to create it in a performance, etc. The lesson plans are very easy to follow and the learning objectives for each lesson are provided.

Fairer World Assembly

Fairer World Assembly

Fairer World Assembly or Class Play Cast of 30 (easily adaptable up or down) Narrator plus Protestors 1 - 29 Duration Around 20 minutes including music and/or poetry suggestions. This script deals exclusively with fairness as a social and economic issue. Mention is made in the script of Children’s Rights. For a full ‘account’ of these see Children’s Rights Assembly. Sample Text Protestor 17: Those suffragettes might have got women the vote but there is still a long way to go before women have equal rights with men. Protestor 18: And what about the disabled? They are also still treated differently from the rest of us. A closer study should be made of their rights! Protestor 19: And what about the elderly? Do they always have as much say as they should? Protestor 20: (Stamping foot) And us children! We have rights too! Narrator: (Hurriedly) Oh I don’t think anyone would argue with that! Protestor 21: Is it really so much to ask? That all people be given the same chance in life? Protestor 22: That everybody has the same opportunities? Narrator: Aha! And that is where education is so important! Protestor 23: Good education for all so we can all achieve our full potential. Protestor 24: And it’s just as important that we keep ourselves informed, via the news and media, about the rest of the world. Protestor 25: Some countries do not have the wealth and resources that we have. Protestor 26: Developing countries or countries of the Third World need our help – now! Protestor 27: We have more than enough for ourselves – so we should be prepared to share our good fortune with others less fortunate than ourselves. Another script entitled Fairer and More Sustainable World Assembly combines fairness and protecting the environment. It is 'The Environment Assembly' plus a segment from the Fairer World Assembly i.e. a combined script. For full coverage of social issues/justice, I would suggest making Fairer World a separate purchase. Other scripts available are as follows: Assemblies/Class Plays on: • Bullying and how to deal with it • British Values • Children’s Rights (as mentioned above) • Mutual Respect • numerous other PSHE scripts – in both assembly/class play and guided reading format plus • Our Planet (available as class play and as a set of guided reading scripts) • Environment Assembly

Showing Setting - KS3 Revision

Showing Setting - KS3 Revision

A PowerPoint that can either be used as a teacher-led presentation or as an independent activity for students to complete. There are a some definitions to match to terminology. Students then explain how they would use these acting skills to show a range of settings in performance. There are challenge tasks to complete about using dialogue to decide where the performance should be set. I have used this resource with my KS3 classes (all abilities) and it have worked well in getting students becoming more confident in explaining HOW they would use their acting skills. This has helped with their evaluation work.

IB PYP Approaches to Learning Skills Task Cards Bundle

IB PYP Approaches to Learning Skills Task Cards Bundle

All of the Approaches to Learning skills ( formerly transdisciplinary skills) combined with reading, speaking, listening and drama! These printable task cards are a terrific way to actively practise the growth mindset directly within the Thinking, Research, Communication, Social and Self Management skills developed within the IB PYP’S Approaches to Learning. The task cards can be used in a variety of ways that encourage the children to reflect and think positively of themselves and others in various scenarios that are easily relatable to them. They are asked to reflect on situations that require analysing, synthesising, categorising and evaluating, present doubt, possible antagonism, confidence issues and other difficulties. As you help the children with these skills in a safe, familiar environment, it will greatly benefit them throughout school and particularly as they approach the IB PYP Exhibition. A great review activity! Differentiated for 3rd-5th grade. UK and USA spelling. Suggestions: Whole class - sitting in circle, each child will have a card to read aloud and then share their opinion. These can be discussed as you go around the circle. Teacher led – read aloud a card to a small group and have them interact with each other to solve the problem or scenario. Small groups- Place a pile of cards face down in the middle of the group. Each person will take a turn to read a card, act out or offer their opinion and then those can be discussed within the group. Independent work - Each child can work with a few cards and write or draw how they would solve the social problems presented on the task cards. You will find over 100 task cards ready to print and go. Each skill is a separate PDF within a zip file. You can purchase them separately but with this bundle you save! And you get the entire set of classroom posters explaining the skills! You can find many more tools for implementing the IB PYP within my store and on my blog. There are separate sets for big kids and also for younger kids. Enjoy! Susan Powers PYPteachingtools.com
