Femmes SDF à Paris - Reportage vidéo (New A-level French)

Study of an hour documentary on four homeless women in Paris. This booklet can be completed as homework or in class (you would need about two hours to watch and complete the booklet at the same time) I have also included the answer booklet so you do not have to prepare anything! :-) I use it to teach the social context around the book No et moi but also the chapter on Poverty of the new A-level French. This video can also be used to help students with their Individual Research Project if they choose this topic. For more resources on the A-level program or No et moi, please do not hesitate to visit my TES shop! I hope you will enjoy my resources and if you have a question on a particular slide, activity or worksheet please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a message. I would really appreciate some feedback :-) Thank you very much. @EloCamden

French Cultural Lesson Bundle - Mystery Countries, Nandos Takeaway Menu , Project Research Sheet

A brilliant bundle, encouraging higher-order thinking skills and independent learning. Lessons are fabulous to teach and enourage students to identify mystery TL-speaking countries from a series of activities and clues (food, geography, music etc.). Nandos Takeaway Menu asks students to pick their own mini topics from a series of increasingly challenging options, giving them ownership. My most popular lessons!

French- Anti-Bullying Week- Semaine Contre l'intimidation

French- Anti-Bullying Week- Semaine Contre l'intimidation

Encourage your students to find reasons to respect each other. In this presentation, they have to imagine a future where "someone" will help them and imagine that maybe today that same "someone" is being bullied. Would they have bullied that "someone" if they would have known the future? Everyone has the potential to help or even save someone else's life. There is an activity with examples for your students to draw or write about an imaginary future and two present situations (one bullying and one not bullying/ respect). There are clear examples of structured sentences, working on present tense, infinitive and present participle)

Les Restos du coeur/ Non-governmental organisations

This resource will be interesting for intermediate students (KS4, IGCSE, IB and A-Level) to work on the topic 'Non-governmental organisations" (on the example of one of the most famous non-governmental organisations in France 'Les Restos du coeur'. Students will listen to the podcast and fill the gaps in the text. This resource will develop students listening skills. After listening students need to answer the questions to check their general comprehension of the text and to speak about some topics mentionned in the text. It can help them to develop speaking skills. In addition to it, I propose you to work on an official song of Les Restos du coeur using a video clip (students need to watch the clip and to fill the gaps in the song).

Faut-il sortir de l'UE?

Faut-il sortir de l'UE?

A lesson that I have put together for my bottom-set Y9 students to discuss this week's EU referendum. It's very basic but was made in an attempt to get them speaking about current events in French.

The French Revolution: The Reign of Terror.

The French Revolution: The Reign of Terror.

This lesson should lead on from recently studying the 'Declaration of the Rights of Man'. Hook starter: As pupils enter the room the presentation will display an autonomously moving spot light to reveal a picture clue about the lesson. Learning Intention and differentiated outcomes (SMSC). Starter: Pupils' receive crime cards to which then then decide individually upon the most fitting punishment this will link in later with the lesson when the guillotine and how it was used during the 'Terror' is explained. Pupils can compare justice and crimes fitting the appropriate punishments. Pupils will consolidate with a video regarding how the Revolution became extreme though the September Massacre as a case study. Pupils' then compete in groups to complete a literacy relay regarding the 'Terror' to increase their knowledge of the events which took place and the main forces involved. Peep sheet has been provided here for differentiation. Pupils then watch a BBC Bitesize video to consolidate before answering a structured 8 mark exam style question. If time I then ask my pupils to peer assess with WW / EBI. All videos links are provided along with instructions and advice in the description of the presentation. Many thanks

New GCSE Unit of work on World Issues

New GCSE Unit of work on World Issues

This unit of work focuses on World issues, solutions to World issues, the environment and a comparison between French and British schools. It is aimed at developing speaking and listening skills. Speaking tasks include role-plays and description of pictures, which can easily lead to free flowing conversations (part of the new GCSE). However, there is material to do reading and writing. Lesson 8 goes through a French song called "L'hymne de nos Campagnes" to add a cultural element to the unit, along with lesson 11 that deals with French schools and the French system. Resource 11 goes with lesson 8 and resource 12 is an improvement prompt you can use when peer-assessing speaking and teacher assessing as well, which will leave a trace of the work done in class in the books.
