GCSE Physics Structure Strips - Kinetic Theory and Density

GCSE Physics Structure Strips - Kinetic Theory and Density

As a teacher, one thing that I have always found is that students find extended answer questions either really easy or extremely difficult - there never seems to be a middle ground! To help, I have put some structure strips together for the GCSE physics course to support the students that really struggle with providing an extended answer. So far the feedback is that students love them as they really have helped these students become more independent in their study. There are 3 parts to this product: 1) The structure strips for 3 separate GCSE questions (one on density, one on changes of state and one on kinetic theory). These can be printed, cut and glued into students books (I have used pastel colours because of printing in black and white, but feel free to change this to liven it up!). 2) 2 copies of each of the questions with lines for students to write their answers on. Print these 2 to a page, and they can be glued next to the structure strips in an A4 book. 3) A WAGOLL (What A Good One Looks Like) with annotations to show students how they could further improve their answers if required. This can be used over a projector to show students, zooming in and moving around with a projector remote as a peer/self-assess exercise when marking answers. I have started putting this resource together for Atomic Structure and Radioactivity, and more will be in the pipework if people like them! Enjoy!

The Kinetic Classroom - Activities that get your students moving and learning

The Kinetic Classroom - Activities that get your students moving and learning

Has your supervisor asked you to get your students moving while they learn? Have you noticed that children who participate actively in a lesson learn easier? There’s a reason for this phenomenon: When children move, they increase the rate that oxygen circulates throughout their bodies, including their brains. Each activity in this 77-page book includes a time stamp to show you whether you need to plan a few extra minutes to prepare for the activity. You get the materials needed and in some cases, a sample finished product. However, since each classroom is different, each way of approaching the activities will be different. These activities can be used for any grade level and any subject.

Jeopardy Game Template

Jeopardy Game Template

This Jeopardy Game Template is customizable for any grade and any subject. Just place your questions and answers in the space provided and your review is DONE! PowerPoint program includes the Jeopardy music, Double Jeopardy, and Final Jeopardy. When your students answer the question correctly, click on the smiley thumbs up and the answer slide appears. When your students answer the question incorrectly, click on the smiley thumbs down and the main slide reappears. You can then explain what the correct answer should have been. Whether the answer is correct or incorrect, the dollar amount shows up in red so it is not chosen again. I did it this way because I found that the students who were simply watching could hear AND see the correct answer. When one group got the answer wrong, the likelihood that others had misconceptions was high so I could expand on the wrong answer to correct any misunderstandings in the whole class. There are five categories and five questions in each category. If you want to double the dollar amounts, simply copy this PowerPoint and adjust accordingly - it is unlocked for your convenience. This Jeopardy Game Template PowerPoint is also perfect for in-service meetings to introduce a topic and add interest!
