Alevel Russian History OCR -can be used for any spec/ GCSE if simplified Very comprehensive double 2 hour lesson plus homework on the Impact of WWI on Russia - Economics, Society and Politics and the Causes of the February Revolution Includes a very detailed powerpoint including retrieval tasks for previous work studied, including debates, e.g. how stable was Russia on eve of war? Was the February revolution from above or below? Looks at all political, economic and social effects of WWI follows my previous lesson on How stable was Russia in 1914. Card sort of factors, Ripple diagram for pupils to fill in with causes for different groups in society e.g. national minorities and peasants vs army and industrial workers. Also includes an example 20 mark essay examining the significance of WWI vs Nicholas II’s actions even before WWI.

Edexcel Politics ALevel (Can also be used for AQA) This is a batch of revision end of topic checklists AND glossary/ key word sheets for all topics: Constitution Congress Presidency/ Executive Supreme Court and Civil Rights Democracy and Elections including Political Parties I have created some topic checklists for each topic from the spec with key bullet points for students to traffic light their confidence including key words at the bottom. For US Presidency and Supreme Court/ Civil Rights I have also included key case studies as I know students struggle with these. Included all key legislative achievements for Presidents from Clinton up to Biden (correct as of June 2023) Also includes useful tables e.g. how many exec orders each POTUS has, vetoes used, signing statements used etc. Included all key Court Cases which created policy for SCOTUS and key cases relating to the bill of rights. For Democracy, I have included case studies of interest groups needed for the exam and also a debate on whether interest groups provide evidence of pluralism or elitism. ALevel lesson for OCR course Russia: 1894-1941 but can be used for any ALevel with a question about Stalin’s control/ purges or use of terror. This is an incredibly detailed lesson- my motto with ALevel is I do the reading so you don’t have to! I’ve read extensively and included a lot of detail within all the resources. Demonstrates turning points in Stalin’s rule e.g. the death of his wife and the 17th Party Congress and significance. Also includes key case studies e.g. the Ryutin Platform and impact. Examines the role of NKVD and various leaders including their purges! Includes Stalin’s purges of various sectors of Russian society and the Communist Party.

It examines how far the lives of women changed during the 1920s and covers flapper culture as well as opposition from Christians and Traditional women as well as some men and authorities. Includes 3 activities - a similarity and difference activity, note taking from a video clip and explanation and a card sort with continuums to annotate before making final judgments. Considers nuances such as the lives of African-Americans in both the North and South e.g. Harlem Renaissance vs Southern Jim Crow repressed women. Also looks at age groups and rural vs urban women.

These powerpoints and accompanying resources are all you need to teach/ learn the Causes of the October revolution in great depth I have even included an analysis section at the end to help with essay planning with arguments for each factor. Complete resources will be about 5-6 hours of teaching plus hwk. My resources are perfect for new teachers to Russia or students wanting highest grades- very detailed with all knowledge included.
