Discovery Activity 1 - Robot Dog (pets)

Pets give us so much, but what are our responsibilities to keep them happy and healthy? Learn about the needs of animals by comparing the difference between a robot dog and a real dog.

Watch a film about a robot dog and compare its needs to a real dog. The resources encourage children to debate the issues of pet ownership and our responsibilities towards them.

Advocacy Activities

To demonstrate and consolidate the learning from the discovery sessions, select an advocacy activity that will task pupils with championing animal welfare in a creative and imaginative way.

Once you’ve finished your chosen task it can be entered into a competition (November - March) to win a trip to an RSPCA animal centre - https://education.rspca.org.uk/education/teachers/primary/compassionateclass/competition

The advocacy activities are designed to follow on from the discovery activities you’ve already completed. So choose the discovery activity that captured your classes imagination and continue the fun!
