KS2, KS3, "Beowulf - a new telling" by Robert Nye. Chapter 3, varying sentence openers, adverbs

Planned for a year 7 class in which there are many learning needs, this lesson focuses on chapter 3 of “Beowulf” and the intention is to remind the children of the need to vary their sentence openers. Adverbs and prepositions are suggested and there are two opportunities for hinge questioning just to check that the children have remembered these! Slide 5 has a multiple-choice question; in my classroom, I ask all children to respond simultaneously by making the shape of the letters, ‘YMCA’-style.
