Letters and Sounds Phase 2 Spelling List by Sound

This resource shows an at-a-glance spelling list which supports the Letters and Sounds progression of sounds taught Phase 2 in phonics lessons, covering the initial 23 phonemes/graphemes taught using this program. There are many options of spellings to set for your children for each discreet sound taught at this level, using only sounds that have been previously taught. It also includes two ‘challenge words’ for each sound, which may contain a phoneme blend or be more than one syllable.
As a teacher I’ve found some words in this program and bits online but often I make up the spellings linked to what my children have learned as many quick resources include sounds that have not yet been taught in this phase.
