This lesson does NOT require the use of any accompanying textbooks. All of the resources needed are included. The lesson encourages the students to investigate both sides of the debate surrounding Mary I and is aimed at developing their source analysis skills. The lesson includes a range of activities including a link to a short video clip (not produced by myself) and working with sources. There is an engaging starter and differentiation (red=least challenging up to green=most challenging). Please feel free to ask any questions :)

Here is a table designed to encourage students to assess the advantages and disadvantages of a range of sources in preparation for the Historic Environment part of the Edexcel 9-1 exam. The modelling has been directed at the medicine through time course but it can easily be adapted and used for any of the topics. It is particularly useful for helping with the 4-mark ‘follow-up’ questions.
