A lesson that looks at ethical issues, covers experiments in light of what ethical issues they pose and why they are rarely used in Sociological research followed by a consolidation task in which students evaluate all of the research methods covered in the unit. Attached are the learning journeys for the AQA Sociology GCSE whole course. I was asked to create these by a customer who had downloaded some of my lessons and wanted to use them for the whole course. These are printed and stuck into the students books at the start of each topic. You can edit and tweak these to suit your own course. They are great, not only at the start of the topic area, but provide students with a revision checklist. Students can cross out/highlight lesson areas when they have revised them. New AQA Specification 9-1. Lesson looking at how internal factors affect educational achievement. Covering School ethos, hidden curriculum, streaming/setting/mixed ability, labelling/self-fulfilling prophecy and subcultures including Paul Willis Learning to labour case study.

Planned for the new AQA 9-1 Specification A lesson that looks at Weber’s theory of authority- traditional, rational legal and charismatic authority. There are then some exam style questions to complete.

Lesson 10 on AQA 9-1 Specification Crime & Deviance This lesson looks at why there is a difference between the social classes and their involvement in crime. There is a 45 minute documentary link attached to one of the slides, that is not essential but a good alternative.

GCSE Sociology 9-1 Specification A Complete unit of lessons and 2 assessments aimed at the AQA Specification for the GCSE unit Families. This bundle would be suitable for other exam boards. This is the same unit, as a bundle already in my shop. I am putting it into one resource, so I can bundle the units together Lessons cover all key thinkers, have exam practice, model answers and differentiated tasks. This is a double lesson if the whole of the documentary is watched. The lesson combines looking at the changing relationship between parents and their children, and the relationships with the wider family. 4 mark exam question to finish.

Planned for the 9-1 New Specification This lesson looks at the embourgeoisement thesis. Looking at Goldthorpe’s (1969) The Affluent Worker study and Fiona Devine (1992) case study.

Ideal for either the start of the course, or as a revision tool for students. Guide covers the exam command words and show how the GCSE exam is structured.
