An activity linked to time - days of the week and monsters or Halloween. The first page is a colour poster showing a monster for each day of the week. Page 2 is the colour poster without the days written so that the children can write these in themselves. Page 3 is the same poster but in black and white. Children can colour the monsters, write the days of the week and even cut and sequence them.

This is a fun activity for young children learning to recognise their numbers from 1 to 10. Each number has a colour box. Children locate the numbers and colour them the same as the box. They could then count how many of each number they found. Extend for more able pupils - ask them to add up all the numbers in each row, or all of the number 2s etc. There is a blank template included for you to use for higher numbers.

This is a lesson I used based on observing fruits, especially lemons with the children. Links to patterns in nature, fruits, plants, colour and pattern. Sheet 1 gives 8 examples of how 1 ‘slice of fruit’ can be coloured in different ways. Sheet 2 is black and white showing the 8 ‘slices’. Sheet 3 shows 2 large ‘slices’. This activity can be linked to seasons, with children using e.g.Autumn colours or cold colours for winter.
