Describing myself and my best friend

This resource will help your students describe themselves and their best friend using a range of adjectives (ending in o, e and r) and qualifiers. There are 2 vocabulary sheets with vocabulary learning tasks and 5 worksheets which include tasks such as gap fill, structuring sentences, identifying errors, spelling from memory, translating, writing and speaking. A crossword puzzle with clues in Spanish will help improve your students' reading comprehension and spelling. I have included a speaking/listening task (with instructions) for your students to do in pairs. These worksheets have been meticulously designed and are at least as nicely presented as any resource you might buy from a respectable publisher. Please don't be put off by the preview image which at times looks distorted with text not fitting into boxes or lines missing from tables (due, I think, to the inclusion of tables/grids/text boxes); the actual resource looks professional in appearance when downloaded. The Imperfect Tense of AR, ER and IR Verbs (contrasted with Present and Preterite)

(0)
This is a great resource for your more able students. It clearly demonstrates how to form the Imperfect Tense of regular (and the 3 irregular) verbs in Spanish and it makes the meaning clear, too. In addition, the Present and Preterite Tenses are revisited and there are exercises which involve using these 2 tenses alongside the Imperfect Tense: 'I was doing ..... when .....' and 'I used to ..... but now I .....' There is an exercise on 'I only do, read, study' etc. using 'sólo' as well as an exercise on 'I no longer go, watch, read' etc. using 'ya no'. To differentiate effectively, I introduce the vocabulary which will be needed in the more difficult translation exercises prior to the task. There is 1 answer sheet so that students can mark their own work. The worksheets come in a 'tú' and an 'vd.' version. Any feedback would be appreciated.

This ppt. has 25 slides and is suitable for students of all abilities up to and including Y7. The main objective is to practise verbs of liking and disliking in the context of sport and school subjects, giving reasons by using the connective ‘parce que’, qualifiers ‘très, trop, assez’ and adjectives ‘super, nul, barbant, ennuyeux, facile, difficile, sympa, sévère’. By the end of the ppt. students should be able to pronounce more confidently and create a simple sentence in which they give an opinion and reason. The exercises are varied and include gap fill, puzzles, vocabulary and pronunciation practice, translation and sentence structure.

I made this worksheet for a Grade 9 student to complement Theme 1, Unit 2 (Technology in everyday life) of the Oxford AQA, GCSE Spanish Higher coursebook. Having covered all the main tenses, indicative and subjunctive, I decided to create some passages for translation into Spanish, each dealing with a specific tense.

I wrote this resource to complement the AQA French Oxford coursebook but it could be used in conjunction with other GCSE coursebooks. It is based on the theme of ‘Ma famille et mes amis’ and comprises 4 worksheets and 4 powerpoints. The worksheets provide practice in: adjectival agreement comparative adjectives : plus … que, moins … que, aussi … que superlative adjectives reflexive verbs in the present tense negatives: ne … pas, ne … jamais, ne … plus The varied exercises have been well structured and differentiated to guide students through the challenges of French grammar and, hopefully, help them achieve a higher degree of accuracy in their writing and speaking. The 4 powerpoints include most of the worksheet exercises with answers, making it possible for you to demonstrate grammatical points, discuss pronunciation and mark work in class with your students.
