How has your training prepared you for your teaching role?
It’s been so nice to be in the school environment, to actually train in a school and see the ins and outs of it all year. It doesn’t feel like I’ll be going into next year with any big shocks in terms of what I’m expected to do or what’s actually happening in the school environment. I feel comfortable going into next year knowing I’ve spent a year teaching in a school.

What aspects of teaching do you feel most confident about?
I’d say behaviour management. My placement school this year has been great at preparing me for every challenge that might arise, and I feel confident in my ability next year to go in, take a read of the room, and know what I need to do.

What aspects of teaching do you think will be most challenging?
Subject knowledge and delivering that will be a challenge. Settling into a new school, knowing where I am and what I'm teaching, will be a bit of an easing-in period too. In terms of the connection between me and the pupils, they’ll be sussing me out for the first few weeks, and once we’ve settled into that routine, it’ll be really good.

How are you feeling now that you’ve graduated?
Happy. It’s nice to be near the end of it, it’s been a really fun year. Lots of different emotions, but happy is definitely the biggest one.

How are you feeling looking ahead to the new school year?
Excited. Fresh start, fresh school, and ready to give it everything I've got. I can’t wait.
