A baseline assessment linked to my progression document.
Following checkpoints and statements from Development Matters, aged 3-4 statements.
Many of these activities can be done through teacher assessment observing children in play but also through CP enhancements and play-based learning. No RBA tablet-style assessing here!
This CPD session offers an engaging and original approach to introducing or revisiting assessment for learning. Grounded in educational research, this CPD session is interactive, well-structured, and has been successfully tried and tested. The aim of the CPD session is to develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed in order to utilise assessment for learning even more effectively in lessons, and it achieves this by embarking upon the following learning journey:
1. Understand what assessment for learning is and why it is effective.
2. Break down the individual components of assessment for learning.
3. Observe and evaluate a model of assessment for learning
4. Collaborate in developing your own assessment for learning strategies.
Included in this pack are: Full PowerPoint presentation, videos for analysis, hyperlinks to Youtube videos, resources for CPD activities, instructions and guidance for trainers/ presenters.

Resource details what type of tasks count towards each objective for the Edexcel GCSE Specification in Art and Design.
Students and teacher can in different pens tick the appropriate box- have they completed no work towards, minimal, secure or in depth amount towards that objective.
You can then tally up how many grades you got in each section and therefore clearly see in each AO where students are struggling.
You can then convert the grades on to the grid- so majority of minimal amount would be 2/3 grade. Secure- 4/5/6 and in depth 7,8,9 grades.
There are then four boxes where student and teacher can write in clearly what tasks need to be complete to improve each assessment objective.
I have created a baseline assessment on entry to Reception, because I struggled to find a baseline assessment that matched the new Development Matters document. Therefore, I have used Development Matters, July 2021 to create this document and to look at what we would expect children to be doing when they enter Reception in September, to be 3-4 years secure. I hope this resource helps you too!

A simplified resource for students to understand what they need to do to meet the assessment criteria. Often used as a page within an assessment folder.
An extremely accurate measure of prior student attainment from Key Stage 2 Science. The assessment covers all aspects of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum for Science and can inform first teaching to ensure any gaps in knowledge from Key Stage 2 can be addressed leading to more rapid progress.
This resource helps with writing assessment across the primary phases from Foundation to Year 6.
This is a set of writing assessment ladders for Foundation to Year 6 pupils. The content is based on Age Related Expectations in Writing for National Curriculum 2014. There are also statements based on the current Foundation Stage requirements and statements taken from previous L6 descriptions to cover pupils who exceed Year 6 A.R.E.
Statements can be used to set targets and monitor progress of pupils in writing. They could be stuck into books and used as success criteria for writing.
The ladders cover Spelling, Handwriting, Composition, Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation for all year groups. These are then broken down into Beginning, Developing and Secure to enable progress tracking.
This is a skill based, practical, Assessment for Learning resource suitable for KS2 and KS3 Drama. It can be used for Self, Peer and Teacher assessment to ensure that the practical work being rehearsed is improved and polished in a focused manner. When using this resource, students will be able to use targeted skill based language in order to give feedback to others, or reflect on their own work.
These grids have been developed based on IGCSE Drama. I have taken into consideration the skills needed at that level and broken them down to ensure smooth transitions throughout the earlier Key Stages in preparation.
Included in this resource you will find a traffic light, student based document and a marking document for years 3-9. An example of how I have used them is:
Student copies of the traffic light that they can use while watching their own, and others performances. Either on personal devices or as laminated copies, these can be used to target improvement and incorporate dramatic languages into feedback.
Student copies of the marking sheets in order for them to see how and where their strengths need to be developed (for example, they might have clear developed movement, but need to work further on vocal aspects).
Incorporate into teacher marking, though they will need to be more task specific for this to be most beneficial.
These are in word and can be edited to suit your tasks.
This editable assessment is set from the new National Curriculum objectives for Year 1.
It can be used as a baseline to assess where children are within their mathematical knowledge at the start of Year 2.
The total is out of 50 marks.
This is editable and there is space for children to do workings out etc.
I have previously uploaded a Year 1 baseline assessment which has been downloaded 100+ times.
