Pupils prioritise the factors that are important for them in a holiday (el tiempo, la gente, el alojamiento). Then, in groups, they are in competition. They work their way through a set of tasks to help them understand and respond to a sheet of complex statements about holidays with lots of new vocab in. They have a group passport they have to get the teacher to sign off when they have completed the task before they can run to the front to grab the next task. The first group to complete the tasks together get a higher number of points, but they are also judged on teamwork and TL use. Encourages group work, is great for differentiated groups, and gets pupils using reading skills to work out new vocabulary as well as providing them with some great model sentences on holiday preferences.

¿Qué te gusta hacer durante las vacaciones? A standalone resource on types of holidays and holiday preferences with scaffolded exercise that recycle key core vocabulary, including opinion expression and ‘lo que más me gusta’ . Answers included.

Double-sided worksheet to prepare GCSE students to build up vocabulary to write about the kind of holiday they usually go on and why (=giving and justifying opinions). Side 1: They complete some model sentences, then fill in some opinions with Me gusta/Me interesa (to practise gusta/gustan) Side 2: They read three model paragraphs about preferred holidays and then Find the Spanish for a number of useful phrases in the texts. This quiz includes 5 rounds including: multiple choice, a picture round, a word round, odd one out and fill in the blanks. Over 30 questions related to holidays. Includes a student answer sheet and an answer key on the final slide of the PPT so students can self mark.

Booklet that covers different holiday-related texts in preparation for the writing controlled assessments. It focuses on the use of verb tenses, expressing opinions and format of letters in Spanish.

Students translate sentences to explain opinions and preferences about transport. Uses same transport vocab as Linguascope. Letters after the sentences show what letters the German sentences begin with so students can do a measure of self checking. The differentiated task is for students with weak handwriting / broken wrists etc so they don't have to write the sentences out, they just have to use a highlighter to make selections.
