A double lesson on ‘the meaning and purpose of life’, looking at the following purposes and their relative importance - to glorify God and have a personal relationship with him, to prepare for judgement, to bring about God’s Kingdom on Earth. NEW 2016 Religious Studies KS3 curriculum lesson on the purpose of worship and prayer for Christians. The lesson is based around the Lord's prayer as a source of wisdom and authority and introduces the concepts of liturgical and non-liturgical worship. Students are also introduced to the difference between worship and prayer through video clips from 'Chuck knows Church' which offer an engaging and student friendly introduction to the two. Level 1: LO1: Identify the main points and ideas and how they are presented in a variety of texts. LO2: Read and understand texts in detail. Level 2: LO1: Select and use different types of texts to obtain and utilise relevant information. LO2: Identify the purposes of texts and comment on how meaning is conveyed.
