Children are asked questions without giving away the name of the object in the picture and they guess / or locate the answer on the grid. There are 3 sets of pictures which could be used as 3 different activities or as 1 depending on your children and their concentration levels. EYFS/Nursery/Reception Poem

(0)
This poem is for EYFS/Nursery/Reception to enjoy together as a physical activity. Its fun approach will encourage lots of movement and co-ordination. It can be used as part of a regular routine, or as one off physical activity. This poem has 2 pages. How I’ve used this resource: This has been specifically written for an adult or older child to speak aloud whilst the children carry out the moves as described in the poem. It encourages movement, co-ordination, rhythm, expression and musicality. Fantastic for getting little bodies moving after lunch, to re-focus or to participate in for fun! If used regularly, children start to memorise the words and join in too which is fantastic for speech development and communication skills. It could also be pre-recorded by an adult to use as a digital resource for class or home enjoyment.

70 Fun Spelling Activities

70 Spelling activities to reinforce weekly spelling words. Can be used with EYFS, KS1, KS2, and KS3. Here is a large collection of spelling activities that can be used with a range of ages without much editing. I have tried to make them as interesting as possible by using fancy fonts, colours, images and GiFs. I have attached a few screen shots of some of the activities. The activities work best when shown on an ActivInspire Flipchart because there are GiF images and files attached, however, I have also converted the slides to PDF so all can use them. Some pages require you to add the spelling words, some do not. Please feel free to edit as you wish and suggest ways that this resource can be improved. I hope you enjoy them and get use out of them.

Picture and Word Fun PPT and Activities

A great lesson for EYFS and / or KS1. Very suitable too, for SEN pupils with differentiated activities included. The PPT shows 10 slides with 3 pictures on each. Children name the pictures and more able pupils can spell or say the initial sounds. Click and the words will appear. There is a word sheet with all 30 words that children could hold during the PPT and locate the words to go with the pictures, or use to support their writing later. There is a sheet showing just the 30 pictures that children could use to find the pictures as they appear. Later, they could match the words and pictures. There are also sheets showing words and pictures; pictures with initial sounds and pictures with space for children to write the words. A good speaking and listening activity with follow up phonics and written work.

The Witches' Spell - Capacity Activities for EYFS

(2)
Two lesson plans, worksheets and a presentation to get young children thinking about measuring and potions! Inspired by The Witches’ Spell in Macbeth by William Shakespeare, these sessions are part of a longer unit covering all areas of curriculum, but are great as stand alone sessions too. In this pack are two lesson plans and the printable resources, plus the presentation, that you’ll need for sessions brave EYFS children and their teachers. The children are introduced to the basic terms for comparing different capacities and there is a good balance of practical and formal work. Aims and success criteria are made clear, as are the key words and resources needed for the activities that take place. This is a resource heavy topic, but I hope that I have made it as simple and practical as possible, while still being creative and fun for everyone. If physical resources are not available, substituting for alternatives is great for the imagination and pictures can do the job as well. Differentiation is built into the sessions, and the lessons can be seen as a starting point for your own ideas. There is scope for further development into a longer term project, with potion making and further measurement activities etc. Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 measurement activities will take the capacity and witches’ spell theme further, so please look out for them.
