Book 1 Single Sounds looks at individual letters and their sounds. Book 2 Hot Pet looks at consonant-vowel-consonant words, and Book 3 Pat’s Bed looks at bdp differentiation. Books 4 Kick the Ball and 5 Black Mask look at double final consonants and adjacent consonants respectively. Book 6 Fish and Chips looks at consonant digraphs, while Book 7 Kate’s Kite looks at split digraphs, words such as ‘make’, ‘cone’ and ‘fine’. Book 8 New Coat looks at vowel phonemes, and Book 9 A Bright Invention looks at silent letters, prefixes and suffixes. Previously sold through Easylearn.
This five-book series, which is designed for children who need extra support and a small steps approach, complements any phonics programme. The clear layout and instructions enable independent working, and there is plenty of practice at each stage, making the sheets useful for literacy intervention. This 20-page workbook is specifically designed to support children in their learning of the RWI (Read Write Inc) Set 3 phonics program. The workbook includes reading comprehension exercises that focus on different phonemes, including “ea,” “oi,” “a-e,” “i-e,” “o-e,” “u-e,” “aw,” “are,” “ur,” “er,” “ow,” “ai,” “oa,” “ew,” “ire,” “ear,” “ure,” “tion,” and “tious/cious.”
First, children read through the passages and highlight the focus phonic for each reading. To further reinforce their learning, previous sounds or tricky words can be highlighted in different colors for revision.
The RWI phonics program has been proven to be highly effective in helping children develop their reading and writing skills. This workbook is an excellent tool to help children consolidate their learning, practice their comprehension skills, and reinforce their understanding of the RWI Set 3 phonemes.
It is recommended to use this workbook with teacher support to ensure children get the most out of the exercises.

Eight Free phonics worksheets, covering cvc words, cvcc words, ‘ck’, ‘ee’/‘oo’, ‘sh’, ‘ar’ and ‘or’ providing valuable back up work to lessons. Great assessment tools. Written for ages 5-6 but can also be used with older children requiring catchup help or those with special needs.
These sheets are compatible with all phonics schemes, however as different schemes introduce sounds at different time, just check that your pupil knows all the necessary digraphs to complete the sheet. For example, the word ‘shark’ has both ‘sh’ and ‘ar’ and so both should have been learnt before expecting the child to read and spell this word.
