7 lesson plans (each lesson plan will possibly last 2 lessons) and a Powerpoint on each act to guide pupils through the text to develop their understanding of the play and also analyse characters, themes and key moments to ensure they are exam ready. This scheme was originally what I planned for the WJEC old GCSE. Lesson plans have grades (A*-D) outcomes on them though the Powerpoints specify a numbered grade on the 1-9 system- I've tried to be as accurate as I can with these since we are all still feeling our way in the dark with these and have classed a D grade as a 4, C-B grade as 5-6 and A-A* as 8-9. I've also included some past WJEC questions and a couple of model responses/ model paragraphs which will still be good for pupils to practise with since there aren't many new sample exam papers out there. The only part of this scheme that might not be relevant towards exam prep are the character empathy tasks and performance tasks. These were old WJEC questions where pupils had to write in character or write about how the actor playing a certain character should perform. Though these types of question don't appear on the new AQA GCSE, I will still use them as homework tasks as they are still useful to help pupils develop their understanding of characters and the fact that the performance side of things does need to be considered when reading a play.
