Children have the right to be safe

Produced by the Children’s Commissioner for England, this 3 minute film shows children aged 8 upwards talking about how safe they feel when out and about in public spaces. It shows a variety of situations in which children find themselves on a day to day basis. These scenarios are drawn from extensive research undertaken by the Children’s Commissioner for England.

The film provides a springboard for classroom discussion as well as an opportunity for children to see their experiences and concerns recognised. The film ends with children and young people making suggestions for how they might feel safer to which students can add their own in a classroom discussions.
