**Fun, hands-on activity for teaching children to read CVC words. Children search for and read consonant-vowel-consonant words with this owl-themed activity! Great for teaching children to develop their phonics decoding skills.

This activity can be used for a whole-class introduction, as a guided group activity or in your literacy areas. Just print and laminate the charts. To make the Show Me windows, laminate and cut around the frame, cut out the rectangular box in the middle and then place over a chart to search for words! Alternatively, you could use the black and white version of the chart as a ‘wordsearch’ printable.

Included in the pack are:

Show Me Windows: place over the charts to help you in your search!
CVC Word chart
Answer key
Recording sheet (children record the words which they have found)

A colour and black and white copy is provided for the show me chart and window! All of the CVC words can be found going from left to right to avoid confusion, as children of a young age are only just learning that text is read in this direction.
