Dinosaur Perimeter Investigation
A perimeter investigation based on dinosaurs (all measurements can be adjusted to match ability)
Powerpoint introduces and outlines task.
3 differentiated tasks:
1) Lower ability - using 1m, 2m and 5m fences to create and calculate different perimeters - find the biggest/smallest etc. Print fences for practical manipulation.
2) Average - Calculate different perimeters and match dinosaurs to possible enclosure sizes (adjust numbers to suit)
3) Higher ability - 50m of fencing - How many different enclosures can you make? - use decimals. Ext task find area.
