New specification Eduqas RS Issues of Human Rights topic 4 in Component 1. Lesson 2 is on Martin Luther King and racism as well as personal conviction, including: what personal conviction is, examples of where personal conviction has conflicted with the law, examples of religious and non-religious personal convictions, a key word test, the work of MLK to combat racism, Bible teachings relating to MLK's work and an exam question with a WAGOLL (What a good one looks like). This full lesson includes: PowerPoint with learning objectives and differentiated learning outcomes (for the new 1-9 grading based on the mark scheme), tasks and challenge tasks, exam question and peer-/self-assessment; information sheets; homework (Judaism Practices recap) and a contingency sheet (basically the whole lesson in booklet form, useful for absent students, students removed from the lesson or cover lessons). NB - Planned for a 75 minute lesson so you may need to adapt for your school's lesson length.
