Executive Functioning Card Game: Focus
Focus is a fun, executive functioning card game and cognitive, remedial tool that exercises working memory, attention to detail, response inhibition, stamina, as well as sustaining attention and mental shifting. For remedial help, Focus also exercises players ability to sustain attention. Players compete to find matching cards - but it's not that easy! Clues within the card share the rule for that card, and different cards have different rules. For one to 4 players, this game can benefit students with ADHD, learning disabilities, executive functioning disorder as well as the elderly and head injured. Focus is a fabulous way to strengthen the brain - while having fun!

Research suggests that children are not born with executive functioning skills, but they have the potential to develop them. Just like going to the gym can strengthen the body, games that exercise the brain can improve mental capacity. According to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, “When children have opportunities to develop executive function and self-regulation skills, individuals and society experience lifelong benefits. These skills are crucial for learning and development. They also enable positive behavior and allow us to make healthy choices for ourselves and our families.”
