GERMAN SPEAKING PRACTICE SEPARABLE VERBS PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS IN GERMAN - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WITH A FOCUS ON SEPARABLE VERBS IN BOTH THE PRESENT AND PERFECT TENSE - 200 QUESTION & ANSWER CARDS WITH REFERENCE BOOKS
Perfect for speaking practice, and multi-skill language learning, these question and answer prompt cards give students structured talk opportunities, and definitely get them listening, reading and writing happily and independently. As they develop both confidence and competence, they rely far less on the prompts, and are able to produce their own language creatively. The card template is a great opportunity to apply language very practically, and my students really enjoy creating new questions and suggestions for answers for each other. The cards are ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. These sets focus on 25 high-frequency separable verbs, in both the present and the perfect tense, featuring language and structures that my students generally meet in the more intermediate stages of their learning, including modal verbs, word order, case and prepositions governed by the accusative and dative.
The reference books include all the questions and answers written out in full in German. My students find these very useful learning support resources and they’re also handy whole-group pronunciation practice and reading-out loud resources. They also use them as a writing frame to guide their creative writing - they can start as easily as changing a personal pronoun, which triggers a range of changes, helping them recap, revise and revisit language. We use the notes and next steps template to reflect on learning, and to think about what students might reasonably do to progress in their learning - it’s a great tool for informing whole-group discussion about progress too. The question and answer templates give students the opportunity to apply their German very practically, as they create both questions and answers for each other. This is a great team activity too, and really popular with my students.
