This is a center based math inquiry lesson with the focus on recognizing that decimal fractions and money are connected, together with the concept of budgeting and the purpose of money.
Differentiation strategies are marked at each step with *for proficient math students and ** for those students who are more advanced in math. Those without stars are for partially proficient math students.
There is a fair amount of preparation required prior to beginning, most of which I am supplying within this packet. You can use this packet as a complete differentiated lesson or you could use it over several lessons depending on how you judge it suitable for the stages of your math students.
