# Pumpkin Math {Measurement Centers Using Pumpkins}

Your students will love these two different centers that use REAL pumpkins. And, YOU will love that your students are practicing math skills that always seem to need reviewing.

This kit has two centers:

Center #1- Students use their estimation skills to guess the weight of 3 different weighted pumpkins and then complete their work mat with that information.

Center #2- Students use their measuring skills to find the average of three pumpkins. Then using that information, they are asked to complete a task.

Both mats contain an extension activity to encourage students to use what they just learned about weight and measurement.

Materials You Will Need To Provide:
-Pumpkins
-Bathroom Scale (or other method for weighing)
-Cloth Measure Tapes
-Rulers
-Yard/Meter sticks

Includes:
-3 work mats (1 mat for weight, 2 mats for measurement (CM and Inches))
-4 pages of teacher instructions/suggestions for use

I have used these centers for YEARS with my 6th grade students. You can even do it in teams as a whole class. Or have students each bring a pumpkin and have the students work in groups of three. The possibilities are endless.
