Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Wales
This resource is the review of Local Authority Social Services and Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) of the arrangements to safeguard and protect children in Wales. The report summarises the main messages and findings from CSSIW's (Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales) programme to verify the self assessments completed by every local authority and local safeguarding board in Wales. The Welsh Assembly Government had asked for these assessments of the effectiveness of their arrangements to safeguard and protect children to be sent to CSSIW, following the ‘Baby P' case in England. This report was published in October 2009.
