This is a fun activity to do with children at Christmas, it’s good for their literacy and letter writting skills. Many suprising and very charming letters came up when done with a group of 5 to 9 year olds.

A template for learners to write their thank you letters to Santa after the Christmas Holidays. Not only does it get children writing for different purposes, it encourages good manners too! I've printed several to leave in the writing area in January :-)
A writing frame for children to write a letter to Santa saying what they'd like for Christmas. On the 2nd page, there are some toys/items that the children can copy into their letter. I have also created a Welsh version of this letter.
Here I have some fun resources of different sizes. Project it called 'LEGO ME&' where young people get to create a self portrait but in Lego form (every kid’s favourite toy). Resource is a simple building block to explore values, individual traits, personalities and characteristics.
Can be used as a simple colouring activity or adapted to an entire lesson with discussions and the use actual Lego to spark creativity and discusion. (But will leave to your imagination and creative flair!)

An 8 round Christmas quiz
Consists of :
Round 1 – Adverts (Guess the 2015 Christmas Advert)
Round 2 – Christmas Confectionary
Round 3 – Christmas True or False
Round 4 – Christmas Dingbats
Round 5 – Celeb Photos
Round 6 – Christmas Movies
Round 7 – Stats Round
Round 8 – Christmas Knowledge
Its all on the powerpoint - don't show the pupils the adverts (you will need access to youtube); I have added a little comment about how long to play each one because some do say the companies name !
Intended to be printed and laminated for a wall display on literary devices. Uses examples from a lot of modern films (lots of Harry Potter!) to make explanations clear and relevant to pupils.
I hope it comes in handy.
RECENTLY UPDATED (Dec 2015) - New look, overview sheet has been added, better protection, objectives edited.
Assessment spreadsheets and tracking resources I've created using a 7-point system. Enter numbers 1-7 (which is explained in the introduction) into spreadsheet for learning objectives which will then calculate averages and a progress 'level' for the accompanying tracking sheets. The newly added overview sheet is a great addition which gives you an instant understanding of the current level of your children in maths, reading, writing and science. Who needs classroom monitor and the ongoing cost? This system, plus my foundation subjects tracking system (see link below), will be all your school needs for tracking progress in this 'interesting' era of assessment without levels. Please, leave feedback for this amazing resource!
NOW ADDED: Foundation Subject Assessment and Tracking without Levels:
ALSO ADDED: Year 1, Year 2 , Year 3 , Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 Math Assessments and Tracking Without Levels OR why not buy the KS1 Bundle, the KS2 Bundle or the complete Primary Bundle at a discounted price?
