Material for Speaking Activity from BBC Talk Spanish 1, Unit 1. For Begginers/ Spanish Entry level.
A call sheet to print out so the caller can mark off which numbers have been called. Easy to adapt to other MFL.
A fun game which promotes students' recognition of numbers from 0 to 20. Students are given a Bingo sheet with three numbers. They can work individually or as a pair. The first student/ pair whose three numbers are shown on the power point wins. PowerPoint can be further adapted in order to change the order of numbers so that the activity can be re-used.
Use with young children to develop preliminary number recognition skills. Before game starts: Frontload with children by encouraging them to read and say each of their numbers aloud to themselves. Game starts with teacher/leader calling out a number between 0-20 with players listening to find and place counters on the corresponding number on their grid. The aim is to fill their grid first. This is also a good consolidation activity for early finishers and/or those who need further opportunities to develop their ability to map aural to written numbers.
Multi-purpose activity that contains clear number lines from 0-20, which have the addition of blank boxes beneath the numbers, and three spinners. The spinners allow the game to have and addition or subtraction focus or can combine both. Sassoon font throughout.
Material to accompany BBC Talk Spanish 1, Unit 9. Vocabulary sheet to help students describe and compare different types of transport. To be used with set of transport picture flashcards as a Pairwork, Speaking and Listening activity.
Class survey to practise reflexive verbs. Students need to fill in questions correctly first and then ask 2 other people about their routine. They fill in activities and times and then explain to a partner or the class using the third person what they have found out.
SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 GAMES AND ACTIVITIES MINI-PACK comprises a range of interactive and communicative alternatives to more traditional vocabulary ‘drilling’ tasks, which really do help to create a lively language learning environment.
The mini-pack includes opportunities for whole-group, small group and pair work, enabling students to learn independently of the teacher. They’re just right for building, reinforcing and refreshing vocabulary, as well as practicing reading, listening, speaking and pronunciation. The game cards are very versatile, and I’ve described a number of games you and your students can play with them in the classroom. The games are great to play when both you and your students need some 'down-time' from other learning topics, while still retaining a SPANISH ambiance!
The game card pack features four non-editable resources:
A set of game cards in SPANISH and English, Numbers 0-31, one set with a SPANISH-themed backing,
A set of SPANISH-only game cards, Numbers 0-31
A whole-group practice/refresher/quick quiz presentation
A reference and activities booklet which includes all numbers written out in full, forwards and backwards, in both SPANISH and English. There are eight Recall and Write activities of varying challenge to really embed those numbers!
I’ve described the resource as suitable for ages 7-14, but 'older' students enjoy the games too - they're a great way of working with SPANISH and enhancing a range of skills.
The game cards do take a bit of prep – printing, laminating and cutting out. Laminating is certainly worth the effort and expense, as you will be able to re-use the cards for many years to come.
Print out and photocopy an appropriate number of reference/recall and write activity booklets, preferably on a copier that has a double-sided/staple function - double staples down the left-hand side are more reader, writer and learner friendly.
The practice/refresher/quick quiz presentation requires no prep, and is simply ready to go!

Using the vocabulary from the new accredited specification for Eduqas/WJEC 9-1 GCSE Spanish, the vocabulary has been broken into suitable chunks and a set created on quizlet.com to aid vocabulary learning.
Students can rate how confident they feel with each word and the student version has the English meanings blanked out so that the students must complete this themselves.
