Intro to wealth and poverty unit exploring personal views and Christian attitudes towards rich and poor.
The second part is another lesson, I've put the link to a Channel 4 documentary how the other half live, the worksheet goes with the first episode but there are other episodes you can choose from. If the link doesn't work its on 4OD :)
This is quite a comprehensive powerpoint that I use to introduce ideas and Christian references. It might be a bit too much to take in at once but can be used as a resource as it can be emailed to pupils. I have used it in conjuction with a sheet that I photocopy for my classes.
Crosswords can be a useful tool and more learning orientated than the dreaded wordsearch! They use thinking skills. Use for:
A research task.
To precede an open task/question.
A baseline activity to see how much children already know so that you can differentiate and show progress.
A plenary activity to see how much children know after a period of learning.
Revision: either to revise the whole topic or to see where gaps in knowledge are so that revision can focus on the gaps only.
This crossword focuses on Islam in general. So, there are some questions about Muhammad (pbuh), the pillars, holy book and it uses the Arabic vocabulary (transliterated into English, e.g. 'salah'). The answers are given on page 2.
It's always nice to give your students something Christmassy to work towards as it gets closer. I've updated this resource due to it's popularity. This 10 page booklet can be printed in colour or black and white. Students can work through the different activities suggested in one go or once a week. I've used these resources with different ages but it would work best for lower secondary or primary school. The resources tell the Christmas story, look into traditions today and explore how Christmas was celebrated in the Tudor and Medieval period. The additional Powerpoint may also be used for other activites. Comments are appreciated. Images acquired through a search engine filtered to "labelled for reuse".
