Wreck of the Zanzibar complete literacy unit - writing a letter in a bottle

This literacy unit consists of a series of lessons based on Michael Morpurgo’s The Wreck of the Zanzibar. The final task is writing a letter as a message in a bottle from Laura to her brother Billy. The SMART covers features of a letter, question tags, interjections, expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, word and sentence level examples. A modeled text is included with good practice highlighted. A sentence opener word bank and planning frame are also included as is all planning.
