Every year my school completes cultural week. Please find enclosed some whole school planning for a spectacular week. At the end of this enrichment week we held our own carnival and invited Parents. I enclose flipcharts, videos and resources to help you with your own cultural week. I have also cross referenced with skills to help tick off the curriculum.

This is a letter set on bunting consisting of: A-Z in capital letters a-z in lower case letters 0-9 ! ? … , . “” x + = ÷ There is one letter/ number/ symbol per page. All you have to do is print out the pages you need to write out any heading you like. Get the pages laminated and cut out to create a lovely and creative display heading. You can also use your printer settings to put multiples pages per page to get smaller letters (that depends on your printer though). I hope your class enjoy your beautiful and creative headings to displays.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Revision Game

This game can be used for all subjects and for all abilities. There are brief explanations on how to change things to match your subject in the notes page on the first two slides. All you need to do is write in your questions and answers and it will do the rest. I have titled “correct answer” on each question enry so if you click it it will move you up the money board. Click an incorrect one and it will tell you it’s wrong and you lose. Classes I have used this with have really enjoyed it and it has prompted whole class discussion.

Deforestation unit of work. No prep required. Worksheets: what is deforestation? (students match pictures to before, during and after). Why deforestation occurs (students cut and stick to show which are natural disasters and which are human causes of deforestation). Where is deforestation happening (map showing where forests were, and what is left- students label named areas). How it happens (students cut and stick to show areas of deforestation caused by slash and burn or clear cutting). Impact on different areas (students match terms and descriptions). Reducing deforestation (students select from a choice, and are encouraged to come up with their own examples). Revision/ Test- contains a question from each area to check understanding and to revise the topic. Choice of answers for some questions, while others need a bullet point or sentence to be written (lower abilities may need a scribe for this). Label the 4 different layers of the Rainforest. Match the description with the correct photo and label. Lower abilities- cut out labels and stick in correct places. Middle abilities- cut out photos and stick. Copy labels. Higher abilities- cut out photos and stick. Write own labels. Children could also take their own photos of the weather and stick them on the chart. A clip from BBC weather showing the latest weather forecast could be shown during the lesson, and children could be encouraged to look at different areas of the UK or another country to compare the weather in different regions. Trump cards can be used for teaching, assessment or student involvement. The templates are very easy to use (even if you don’t have Publisher experience): open the desired template, add text in the boxes provided, add a picture by clicking on the picture frame and then print them out.
