Friends - Using Marion Blank's Language Levels: 4

Friends - Using Marion Blank's Language Levels: 4

Friends brings in everyday environments and play. Talk about going on errands, outdoor play, and keeping safe. A small vocabulary set is suggested. The main focus of the Language Levels pages is one-to-one or small group work with children who need carefully graded questions. The Marion Blank Language Levels I-IV move from very direct questioning (approx. 3y but appropriate for older children with impaired/delayed language skills) towards much more abstract work (5+y). Each of the four scenes in the story has questions at each Level. The ideas would also suit EAL groups. The same pictures are included on a single sheet for new activities. There is a simple reader (RA 6-7y) with four illustrations. The cover note includes suggestions.

KS1 Literacy cross-curricular Resource 3-7 year olds

KS1 Literacy cross-curricular Resource 3-7 year olds

A great resource for 'early years' and KS1 rising 7 year olds. Uniquely, this bespoke story is excellent for speaking and listening, guided reading and creative writing skills within literacy. The resource also supports contextualised learning and prepares children for outdoor learning. It supports shape space and measure within maths. Within PSHE it deals with 'dilemmas' as well as 'conflict and resolution.' In the same way, the story enables SEN children to better identify and manage their emotions. As a science resource it supports investigative learning within units that cover 'growing plants' as well as 'light and shadows' also 'light and dark.' Children will find the character relatable and fun.
