Exploring China

Exploring China

This presentation provides 32 photographs showing the rich history, culture and geography of China. It would be ideal for all ages, but particularly at key stage three as an introduction to China and to aid discussion on specific topics about China. Pictures include Hong Kong, Macau, the Great Wall of China, Beijing and the Forbidden Kingdom. The photographs also show the less famous face of China, what it is like for the people who live there and the stark contrasts within the country. The photographs are all taken by myself to show the famous, the spectacular and the ordinary day to day life in this fascinating country.

"Blood Diamonds: The True Story" - Viewing Guide and Teacher's Guide

"Blood Diamonds: The True Story" - Viewing Guide and Teacher's Guide

This was used as a 60-minute lesson for IGCSE Global Perspectives, as we got our students to think more on the topic of Sustainability, in preparation for their mini Individual Report. It is important to note that we showed only the first 10 minutes of the documentary, and spent the rest of the lessons on a pair and whole class discussion. While we focus more on teaching skills, this documentary served as a useful resource for the students to gain exposure to this topic, and subsequently to do more research on other (luxury) items that could threaten the sustainability of our environment.
